Once Upon a Raven's Night

jody l cooke 2021 (north carolina)

When the moon shines upon those
Warm mystic nights.

The wind blows through the trees,
And a bird takes flight.

She stretches forth her wings tonight
Looking for love in her life.

As she holds onto her dreams so tight
Once upon a raven's night.

Being with someone would make her
Feel so right,

For within her heart she will find, A
Glimmer of light

For the lady of darkness sooner or later
She will meet her man.

And from within love will spark and
It will shine once again,

With a fire and desire she will give unto
Him. And only then she

Will live again and hold her dreams so
Tight once upon a raven's night.
