Dodging Bullets

jody l cooke 2021 (north carolina)

You got me walking through the shadows of your heart tossing and turning, Feeling lost and ripped apart. Are you telling me something that my eyes don’t see?
You got me dodging bullets baby I can never break free. You got me dodging bullets baby. You’re the only one that can save me. You got me dodging bullets baby.
Are we spies when it comes to love? Both working hard undercover in a game of cloak and dagger. So full of danger, our hearts were one and now we’re perfect strangers.
You got me dodging bullets baby I can never break free. You got me dodging bullets baby. You’re the only one that can save me.
No more hiding your guns, you got me on the run. I look into your eyes it’s like magnet and steel. When I hold you in my arms knowing you are dressed to kill.
You got me dodging bullets baby I can never break free. You got me dodging bullets baby, you’re the only one for me.
