GHOST

jody l cooke 2021 (north carolina)

Can you see me standing there with a hurt look in my eyes or do you even care?
Searching for the answers to so many questions that’s hidden in the dark.
And I’m reaching for the light am I wrong or is it right? Without you I’m haunted by the night.
Can’t you see I’m stuck between heaven and hell? I’m falling fast into your spell.
Yes! I’m the one who misses you the most, but without you I’m just a ghost.
You say you see right through me is it a crime. I’m the one who’s sitting here all alone waiting on borrowed time.
Yes! I’m the one who misses you the most, but without you I’m just a ghost.
Has love gone away is there really no more words left to say?
Memories of us lost forever buried in an unmarked grave.
