Goodbye

It's time to let you go, I guess
I just don't know how.
We'll see each other again someday
It just can't be right now.

You've always been my best friend,
My rock to lean upon.
I just can't seem to find the strength
To live since you're gone.

The emptiness that my heart now feels
Just won't seem to leave.
I miss you more every single day
More than you'd believe.

Why you go and leave me here
Wrapped up in this pain?
Some days I'd like to give it up
And just go insane.

Maybe then I wouldn't wish
Just to see your face.
To hear your voice just one more time
And let you go with grace.

Why is this the hardest thing
I'll ever have to do?
Why couldn't it have been
Me instead of you?
