Did Done To Do

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

So many will spend their valuable time.
Evaluating others.
And what those others could have done.
To become other than who they are.

And the ones who do this,
Seem to have anointed themselves...
Reliable neighborhood prophets.
Depending on gossip.
Tastefully mixed with rumors fit,
To nibble and then approved to whisper.
Ignoring facts that distract what is true.
Regardless of what those others did to do,
To accomplish a doing to achieve.
Successfully.

Yet...
Sitting to talk about that success.
Is not what rumormongers choose to do.
No!
Since this would prove,
Their time to spend has been wasted.
And does not satisfy a choice to make,
To find something negative to say.
About anyone who did something,
Worthy to claim an achievement to name.
Outside the box where naysayers stop.

'You know...
They could have done something else.'

'Something else like what?'

'Anything than what they chose to choose.'

'But they did become successful at it.'

'Because it was easy for them to do!'

'I get you point.
That was as easy for them to accomplish.
As it has been for us,
To criticize others who achieve...
A doing to ignore what we do,
With time to spend and waste...
Successfully!'

'Why can't you,
Stop being rational.
And be positive?'

'That's ironic.
Because...
I am B-positive!'

'With me.
That's what I'm saying!'

'You knew what I didn't know.
If I had known you were B-positive...
We would not be here,
Talking about the choices...
Others make for themselves.
And for your information,
I did not choose my blood type.
So I do what I've done to do,
Caring less who approves of it!'

'And the people?
The people are getting more nuts,
Everyday!'

'Now you tell me.
And you expect me to know these things?
What do you think I am?
Psychic?'

'Uh...
Not psychic.
But...
Nevermind!
You?
You might take it as a compliment!
