HARSH WORDS

Was hanging out with friends one night
playing poker and having fun
When a little argument turned into a fight
Things got all hostile and numb
The words got harsher, the tone was worse
Who gave a damn to the power of spoken words
Out of mere ego and to save my face
I threw thoughtless words all over the place

As the night grew darker and stars up high
i pondered on those words, when and why?
The trouble with talking fast is as simple as can get
you may say something you haven't thought of yet

once let go, those words cannot return
like a bullet once shot, will hit the goal and burn
Pulling the trigger is in your will
so wait, think and weigh until,
Your words match your trail of thought
the composure reflects...you are calm not hot

As temper isn't strength...its a sign of the weak
it squeezes you out.. you're not rational as you speak

As someone great once told ...
speech is silver and silence is gold
I wish i was careful that night
Could have kept things smooth and avoided the fight
I pledge to learn from this day on
Grow up, keep cool.. don't be a moron! :))
