The wish

When I am alone
With no one to talk to
No one ot care for
No one to hold on to
No one to feel for
I feel empty, worthless
Striving to fill the vacuum
I throw the window wide
And call your name across the sky

The endless stretch of the day
With nowhere to go
No where to run
Nowhere to hide
Nowhere to search
Staring on the walls
Wrapped up in my thoughts
I feel nothing
Trying to find the meaning of life
I wish if only you were here

Come evening,
I see birds returning to their nest
Twittering, singing a joysong
I fail again
With nowhere to return
Nothing to call home
No one waiting for me
No one to smile at me
No one to fight with me
I drag myself back
And wish, you were here

I find refuge
In the outstretched arms of night
Searching for someone besides me
Embracing me in her arms
Cajoling me, teasing me
Singing a soothing lullaby for me
Nothing happens, clock ticks on
I close another chapter of my life
Crying, wishing if only you were here
