I’ll buy into you

Robert Hammers 1968 (California)

Man: If there’s truth in advertising, I’m impressed with your display. If you’re truly what you seem, I want to be with you each day.  If your heart is made of gold, as your body indicates, I’ll give all you ask of me, no matter what it takes.

Chorus: And I will buy into you.  I’ll invest my heart.  I will stock up on love, and play my part, if you’re ad is as truthful as it looks.

Female:  Too many times I’ve been the victim of false advertising, I thinking I was getting love but only realizing that all they ever wanted was to cure a lonely night and my heart would end up broken when he wasn’t Mr. right. Forgive me if I’m skeptical.  I hope you understand, but if what you offer is a steadfast loyal man...

(Chorus)

Both: I’ve seen the worst in life, now I’m looking for the best. I’ve had my hills to climb, now I finally see the crest. I don’t need smoke and mirrors, I need a love that’s true. If you’ll give me what I need, I’ll give what you need, too.

(Chorus)
