Enigma of Mankind

As the Phoenix of legend
From ashes I rise
To heavens above
From the pit of demise
Life's ebb and flow
Leaves much unexplained
I look to the ether
For mysteries arcane
I am the stardust
The moon and the sun
The universe and I are one
The Earth is my mother
My father is the sky
My brother is the river
My sister the trees growing high
I am the great amalgam
The enigma of mankind
The esoteric eccentricities
Of the elevated mind
My cathedral is the forest
My sanctum is the mountain
Knowledge of eternal love
Flowing like a fountain
I am the embodiment
Of joy and love and peace
My wish is that love would win
And wars and killings cease
Oh that man would realize
That we share this connection
And understand that what we see
Is not the true reflection
I am in tune with the rythym
The music that is time
The heartbeat is a metronome
Which keeps the beat and rhyme
For now I will do what I can
To seek what is to find
For I am the great amalgam
The enigma of mankind
