Your Yesterdays

And what of that, what stirs so deep within my breast?
Inducing heartfelt transformations, at the very thought of you.
That which impels the brain awake at early dawn,
so as to face the rising sun,
with new found hope; a brand new day, so full of promises!
For but a smile upon your lips suffice to numb the mind,
inhibiting the will from craving otherwise.
This inundation of such emotional complexity,
inciting unrelenting yearnings demanding to be heard.
Their silent cry for your embrace, to hold you tight against my skin,
to feel your breath upon my face, consumed in flames of passion.
Luscious intoxicant; the nectar of your womanhood;
to gratify this carnal appetite.
And what of the daydreams, of contemplating such sweet delights?
Now, nothing more than barren fantasies clinging to your yesterdays,
nothing more than hopeless dreams that hunger to be near you.
Fated to waste and not to be fulfill the essence of their quest,
killing me slowly, taming the fires that fuel my love for life.
Is this to be my fate, this meaningless existence?
A broken heart reliving moments, that speaks only of yesterdays.
