I Give Thanks in All Things

I  give thanks in All Things.

Standing beside my mother's grave.
With pain in my chest, and
Tears down my cheeks.
I gave thanks because
My mother taught me how to trust in GOD.

I gave thanks when my bank account was empty,
And I was not sure how my bills would get paid.
People negative words were on me because
They counted me out.
Still, I gave thanks because
I know who my source is.

I gave thanks when family and friends hurt me.
Lovers forsake.
People I love started to act as if they hate me.
They waited for me to hit rock bottom.
So that they can say I told you so.
I paid them no mind,
And continue to give thanks because
I know a love that never failed.

I gave thanks When I brought my babies home.
Knowing I would-be mother and father alone.
I didn’t know how I would make it.
Spend many days and nights praying and crying.
I was asking the Lord not to forsake me.
See, I knew I wasn't Worthy but
I was asking for Mercy.
I gave thanks because
I knew the Lord would surely save.

Some days are hard,
But everything worked out for my good.
Through it all the LORD never leave me.
Always turn around and Blessed me with mercy.
That's why I give GOD thanks in all things.
