Contentment

Contentment is that bit of golden light that warms hearts
And makes them clearly shine.  That which brings a
new depth into human sight and makes the most difficult seem simple.

It may be part of evening fireside talks.
Or just a smile across the table length.
It may surround woods on autumn walks.
Or brighten faith,
With new discovered strength.

Contentment is that ray
That warms the soul
And gives courage to follow hearts
Across the farthest knoll.

And lucky is that heart
Where it abounds.
