Luck

When I think of luck
 I think back
I think of the innocence of children
 I think of green glitter
 sprinkled all over the floor
The excitement in a child's face
  hoping to see the leprechaun
Praying for him to grant a wish
rainbow slides and a pot of gold at the end
Laying in the grass trying to find a four-leaf clover to give luck
    Wishing the hopes
     and dreams come true

As an adult those dreams
 have come to an end
 Good things happen
we call it good luck
Bad things happen
we call it bad luck
In any situation good or bad
Luck is just life experiences
played out by chance
To say one is lucky
one also has to point out
 they are unlucky as well

Laura Lee Wittekind

I've been writing poetry since I was 13 years old and still dabble when I have the urge I use to have an account on here when I was a teenager more…
