God Fearing Woman

Danyettia Crawford 1985 (United States)

To be a woman you must understand the inner parts of you
Knowing and accepting who you are and embracing your inner truth
Inside is the power in which you hold the key too
Take hold of the world and embrace the thoughts that create and shapes the woman you becoming into
Don’t expect the world to understand what transpires within your mind
They would have to love you unconditionally to know how bright your light shines
You doubted yourself even gave up many times before
Because you didn’t understand the value you possessed was powerful and so much more
We’ve allowed the voices of the world to dictate how strong we could be
Because we just didn’t understand the inner parts of the woman we were designed to be
We couldn’t see the crown we had because we are so used to a tangible thing
Our crown is not material but the knowledge in which we’ve obtained
Although your crown may shift a time or two
Remember all it takes is a glance of your reflection to remind you
That you were designed purposely for the life you are in
So never be afraid to take time and readjust my friend
See you can conquer anything you set your mind too
Seek God first and remember it is through his spirit within which is the inner parts of you

About this poem

I wrote this poem for a women empowerment that I spoke at. This poem speaks to the inner core of a woman which for me is the God that lives within.

IN MY POEMS I usually do not share my poems because they are sacred to me It is the place of no judgement where my feelings can be released In my poems is the best part of me This has been my outlet of things that has now set me free In poem is some of the greatest challenges I have faced But also, of the experiences that molded me into the woman I am today I have experienced a lot of joy but pain too Held myself responsible even for the things I never knew I grew into poems and them into me My heart is exposed through each word you read I allow vulnerability because the same poems I write are the same ones that saved me Heartbreak and lost I have endured it all Learned how to trust God and always stand tall Mistakes I made taught me the best In poems I surrendered my stress Depression hit like being overtaken by a wave But through my poems unbroken I stayed I am a book many dare not to read Mislead by the thought of knowing me In my poems is my reality often altered with some fantasy I am just me and I give my all So, as you read my poems, I hope I can make you smile more…
