The Summer of Discontent

The summer of discontent is over.
Now comes the killing chill of winter.
I thought to have you after this was over.
It was my dream for you to be my lover.
All hail now, the dying bloom of summer.
Bury me now... in the fine fair fields filled with clover.  It may well be that this love will soon be over.

I got lost in the mazes of disheartenment .  This was supposed to behoove us,  to be loved thus... in the land of enchantment.  The quest at best, was just a test I spent  all my heart and souls on, I was bent upon success.  I guess, it was hell's echelon .... that compelled me beyond where I should safely go... and so... I want you to know... you were my best and greatest.... love.

I dont know where I will find the strength
To ride this out, to make it the length and the circumference of this attempt to gain your love and compassion.... as it was my fashion... to vent my passion unto an unyielding mind and unstretched forth arms...for I should have been alarmed that this might be to hard... to laborious... to  wind up fortuitous in glorious repast.   The end loomed in the distance to fast... I could not catch my breath at the last... the beginning of what might be the end... of all I would or might  win... if I could be warm in your arms....safe from lonlinesses harm.

To telecast the final fatal flaw ...I was in awe of the audacity... it wasn't what it needed to be... the monstrosity of my love for you...would or could make you/ me feel there was a forever.... you said it was better to let me go.  If this is so... it is good to know... for there is time to let there be erected a safety net.... when the bet is over.... that I would be your lover.

Because I do ....and must go on...
For life will continue to play it's song.
To leave this now, it would be so wrong,
But what else are the options...to what  should I do, to salvage this negative impression... that it is your mission to pursue...

I lay it  all at your feet.... and seek redress and tenderness ...forgiveness not for any wrong.... but to go on... to meet the challenges.... that we have before us.  It may be this...  it is nearing the end ... but I would turn it all around and begin again.  I can't let go, I can't give in.  I seek your love... and it.... to win.  My heart is tumbling, down a rumbling crevice... a device to insidious to describe must be lent.... must needs be sent....to me... to save me, in this, the bummer of a summer of discontentment.

About this poem

I was miffed at a cyber friend and wrote this to ease my soul. Perhaps you have felt the same way.
