Another Season in Time

Paul Weaver 1964 (Virginia)

As the july heat rolls in summers here again.
People swimming the beaches and fishing.
The air has it's normal haze from the heat.
As at day break the birds sing loudly.
The sunrise starts off another day.
We sweat through the day waiting for evening.
When evening comes the breeze feels cool.
As night falls the stars begin to shine.
And the moonlight glistening in the leaves.
I sit back relax sipping on tea gazing.
Toward the sky hoping to see a falling star.
Thinking of how fast time moves.
You hear something in the news that happened.
Then you hear them say it was ten years ago.
First thing we think has it been that long.
Yes it's been that long where does time go.
We are only here a short while.
So enjoy life and all it has to offer.
Simply put life is very short.
