Yesterday, a boy cried...
Dontay Anderson Jr 2003
Yesterday, a boy cried. The boy cried cause he was tired. Praying for breath, begging GOD. Hoping to rest, death lingering in his eyes. The boy yearns to see sunshine. He’s a rotting prisoner in his own mind. He’s a wretched victim of his own kind. Looking at the stars, he starts to curse time. Though it’s dark in his heart, he knows his soul shines. ‘‘Til death do us part’’, he says......while slowly dying. Yesterday, a boy cried. He sobbed and sobbed. He remembers those special times...with Momma. Yesterday, a boy cried. Lies, crimes, baptized, damaged soul...damaged life, life’s full of strife..guide him right cause the misery ain’t a memory but a nightmare....a pain he stuck with while trying to get through life. Yesterday, a boy cried. He needs God, mind almost fried, he cries, break evil ties, he lays and dies.....Yesterday, a boy cried.
