LIFE WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE EASY

Chorus:
Life was never meant to be easy
But it’s harder for some,
                            than for others,
Life was never meant to be easy
But it’s the working man who
                            mostly must suffer.

Verse 1:
Now Malcolm tells us all
                              a load of bullshit
Malcolm tells us all a pack of lies
Malcolm tells us life can’t be easy
When Malcolm speaks democracy dies.

Verse 2:
Now Paul ‘The Dork’ is shouting
                                             loudly at us
Keating’s heaping us with foul abuse,
He thinks he is the greatest thing
                                   since sliced bread
But frankly, we all think that
                                            he is no use.

Verse 3:
Now Little Johnny wants to crush
                                         the Unions
Now Little Johnny thinks he’s
                                        big and brave,
But the voters stomped him out
                                       three years back
His IR laws are safely in the grave.

Verse 4:
Now Kevin Rudd is just as bad
                                            as Malcolm
And just as weak as poor old
                                           Little John,
Now Labor is in power once again
Democracy is surely dead and gone.

Verse 5:
The Runner's running out of mad ideas
She’s beating up on all the unemployed,
Her whacky backy ideas are all over
And good times now can never be enjoyed.

About this poem

I wrote this song lyric c.1977, concentrating solely upon that feeble-minded idiot Malcolm Fraser. Then during the reign of error of Julia Gillard, I radically rewrote it.
