Stay True

Stay True

Stay true to your dreams
A dream conceived in a thought,
Is a thought only a dream
Or a dream only a thought

Stay true to your thoughts
For they matter most of all,
Dreams they conspire to conceive
Hopes they inspire and conceal

Stay true to your dreams
Dreams can come true,
Conceived in the eve anew
They fade by morn like dew

Stay true to your thoughts
For they matter most of all,
Desires they burn to initiate
Faith they desperately create

Stay true to your dreams
Dreams can come true,
Peace is yours in a visions
Light shouldn't be a prison

Stay true to your thoughts
For dreams they create,
Majestic and flightful
Lifelike and beautiful

About this poem

I first published this poem back in 2000, on Poetry.com, typical situation; had written it for someone else. I had a request to publish it from a high school senior for their year book, & its in a book published by Global Publishers Inc., & from what I understand it's included in a book of poetry at the library of Congress in the USA.
