Twilight Melody

In this twilight
my heart takes flight
to places I cannot see
but that are as real
as the touch of a song.
The internal melody
opens like a flower blooming,
the wind carries the tune
far & wide
from me to you
& you to me--
space & place create no boundaries--
these are messages
that travel on clouds
& on the wings of the birds
& in the tides of the oceans--
far & wide
from me to you
& you to me--
this symphony of love
dries the tears of separation--
in the moonlight
my soul takes flight,
I find you,
my eternal friend.
