Chaser

I'm not a chaser so don't ask me for the answers.
I'm a straight shooter never needed these tasters.
Life's just too bland for anything to taste good so make it bitter. Add a little lime to this liquor and pour another shot to remind me where I've been and where I'll be. I'm possibly one sip away from forgetting but I could be one slip away from falling. There's one too many cubes within this glass and it's reminding me what I came to forget.
Let's pour another bottle empty the tank so I can choke.
Let's make it dry so I can gasp for air while I reach for straws.
I've contemplated what it meant, thought about what we really meant. We're just acid burning like stomachs trying to cope with all this liquor in this bladder. It doesn't even matter if how far down it reaches because it never seems to make it. Bottles without the chaser just wasn't enough to keep me awake. To prevent me dreaming about this beauty that's once in a life time. Am I wrong for not holding back and just constantly pouring to forget?
Was it just a shot or the bottle that I've endured to escape these clutches wrapped around my neck?
