Like All Of Us Do

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Aren't flaws to have them,
Like all of us do.
More noticeable when many refuse,
Not to have them at all.
Like all of us do.
And like all of us do like others pretend,
Our blemishes to have...
Are not blemishes at all.
But mistakes our parents made.
To leave us for the rest of our lives,
Making excuses for the mess they made.
With this to feel better to blame on them.
Since someone else and not us,
Should be held accountable...
For the messed up stuff,
We refuse to accept done to ourselves.
Yet deny alone to be responsible.
Like all of us do.
To accuse others for a doing done.
With these accusations made,
Without a word to mention...
About whose parents did what,
When that time came...
For them to get involved.
But ignored the act.
To leave the World on our backs,
Putting their fingers at us.
And here we are,
Doing the best we can...
Not to look into that mirror.
Like all of us do to make attempts,
To deny the truth to disbelieve...
Who we see is us but stay deluded!
Like...
Well,
Some of us do...
After and not before medicating!
Done to enjoy the fiction of it all.
