The End, Middle and the Beginning

Corinne Costantino 1965 (Massachusetts)

Thursday was fun, so I thought
  Made two runs.
Friday the same, fooled myself
  Said just one.
A rent-a-friend smiled, held the door
  Flashed some cash.
I ran out three more times,
  Ran the forty buck dash.
But when Saturday came, I awoke with a start
Looking up at my kids, what I saw
Broke my heart.
Pain and rejection, pure fear in their eyes
So much did they love me, they wore no disguise.

I cried in my coffee, I screamed on the phone.
Miss Mary said, "Get here!"
  I came here,alone.

So, I stuck and stayed.
Lost my kids
Gave up wealth
For the message I heard
"Take the time, find yourself."

Within fourteen days I planted my feet.
Surrendered my ego
Admitted defeat

Got on my knees
Learned I was loved,
And centered my focus on things from above.

If you've taken the time to read this my friend
  Remember
You're worth it!
  And
Fight till the end.
