Up To The Hips

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Wading in shallow pools of delusion.
Many are taught...
With an innocence that begins.
Until denial begins to reach,
Up to their hips.
And then without warning,
Or pretend not to listen.
There they go...
Diving head first into greed.
Deception, fraud and corruption.
Begging for help but left to drown!
Deep in this cesspool.
To unbelievably ignore the smell of it!
