Destiny's Inevitable Path
Beneath its' murky water's deep
in fathoms far below
lies some who rest in endless sleep
where waves now calmly flow.
It's peaceful and serene now
where ships in battle engaged
the tranquility belies somehow
that once a battle raged.
Somewhere beneath this dark cruel sea
friend and foe lie side by side
all hatred now has ceased to be
for those who fought and died.
A plaque placed at a cenotaph
records the lives they gave
when destiny lead them down this path
to a murky, watery grave.

Again this poem came out of nowhere. as did so many of my poems. I have no idea where this one came from. I just wrote it right out. sometime in 1992 .
