Did Jesus Speak Your Name?

When you were small, a little child  
And life was like a game,  
You learned of someone kind and mild.  
  Did Jesus speak your name?  
  
When you were older and more wise  
Did you do acts of shame?  
When you cheated to gain that prize  
  Did Jesus speak your name?  
  
When they crowned Him with that thorn  
And played their gambling game.  
Even though you'd not been born  
  Did Jesus speak your name?  
  
When He was placed upon that cross  
And shouldered all your blame;  
When God made that immortal loss  
  Did Jesus speak your name?  
  
When they pierced Him in His side  
And then to mock Him came.  
When He prayed before He died  
  Did Jesus speak your name?  
  
And when He went down into Hell  
To fight that bitter flame,  
Did He go there for you as well?  
  Did Jesus speak your name?  
 
Then when you are approaching death,  
Scared of what you became,  
Will you, with your last dying breath,  
  Will you speak Jesus' Name?  

When you die, laid in the ground  
Or committed to the flame,  
When you can hear no other sound,  
  Will Jesus speak your name?
