Toad's Hollow

It's all gone now, only a memory, no trace exists today
woods have vanished, houses stand...where once a forest
                               lay.
T' was a rural rustic setting, far less populated then
clear flowing  waters ambled thru' this peaceful wooded
                              glen.
When spring arrived in April, fish in abundance swam
and in the deeper pools, the beaver built his dam.
Creatures of the forest had made this place their home and their calls echo'd thru' the woods ...in freedom they
                          could roam.
Wildflowers grew profusely amidst all this lush and green
violet, trillium and daisy ....were bountiful to this scene.
but the sands of time were drifting down...into a
                        precious few
wild beauty of flora and fauna....soon disappeared
                       from view.
A generation yet unborn, nor their descendants that
will never know that once there was
                       a place...we called
                          Toad's Hollow.

Norma Suddard

Previously wrote tons of poems. This is only one of so many poems that I couldn't stop writing. I would just imagine in my mind about something or see a piece of broken shard and out came a poem. I have so many, many poems and stories in my books --several binders of poetry, stories and thoughts. I have over 2 large binders of poetry and more than 8 binders on stories I have written. I just see something or think about something and out comes a poem or story. I have also done Ancestry since 2004. My binders take up hugh shelves on both stories and poems. I am in about 10 books of poetry alone never mind the stories. I love to write. Most of my poems are rhymes but there are others that tell a story. Norma J. Suddard more…
