Eldon Avenue
Comforting Words
Mom won't see the season's change,
I said to my husband Ken
she so loved to watch the colours of fall and when the
snow would begin.
My husband held me tightly and said "she still sees them
hon'
don't worry about your Mother...God wouldn't let her
miss ---a single one.
She's seeing the brilliant colours, the maple turning from
green to red
She'll see the snowflakes gently fall...think ....on what I've
said.
I gazed up at the autumn sky and flock of birds flew
high above
I thought about what he had said..... with a voice so full
of love.
I dried my tearstained face knowing he was right
God wouldn't let my Mother....miss such a beautiful
sight.
Somewhere in God's Heaven, the seasons come and
go
and to think that Mothers sees too....is comforting to
know.
So when the first of the snowflakes fall and the season
changes a'gin
I'll think about the words he said...she sees...each
season begin.
