The emperor

Rasmus Berggren 2002 (Linkoping)

What are you doing, sitting alone as the emperor in the castle ?
Where is your loyal servers, knights and jesters ?
Why is your castle in ruins emperor ?
Why is the spiders climbing the walls and the crows nesting in the corners ?
Oh emperor, where is the colors, the jewelry and the beautiful women ?
Where has the laughs which soared through the hallway flown off to ?
Oh emperor, rise from your throne of failures and look out over your empire
It is all an empire, reflected in your failures.
Every man, woman and child knows it
Every stone, tree and disgusting insect whispers of your failure
Oh you fool, take on your crown and thorns and crawl out to your people
Let them spit on you, beat you, hurt you
Let them do it all
Let the mutated disgusting human creatures bury you alive
All in the name of forgiveness
Let your failures swallow you whole, until you are no more
