Woodland Wonder

Woodland giants, barking breeze,
Call out o'er timber tops waving leaves.
Winds that beckon my inner sails,
To walk the husky rooted trails.

Old Sol peeks out of the wooded there,
Following our path in brilliant glare.
Tangerine azure, orange sigh,
Making its' way into the western sky.

Quickening paces find the center deep,
As shadows fall and darkness creeps.
The cry of owl and earthbound creature,
Heightens nightly brushwood features.

Birdlike figures pass before our eyes,
Sensing presence, heard in cries.
Exiting slowly finds a backwoods stream,
Descending to drink as the waters' teem.

The fall of dusk now leads us out,
While deer so playfully scurry about.
The night now quiet, until we meet again,
With awe and wonder in the forest den.
