Age-Ing

Age-Ing
I do not look forward to a " guest" that is coming for a visit.
A guest that never leaves,
You know the kind?
Her name is Age- Ing
She has a pet bird and brings it with her wherever she goes.
His name is " Crow"
Who does that??
It's not like it's a pretty bird, or even friendly.
She brings her knitting with her, leaving a pattern all over my neck.
As She knits, rocking by my fire; I'm hoping it won't go out, as she feels quite indignant and interrupted if I attempt to stir it up and add fuel so it will keep burning.
Age-Ing chatters endlessly, letting me know the details of what's going to happen from the mirror reflecting her image.
" look closely", she says. I'd rather not.
Besides knitting, Age-Ing is an "artist".
Oh!! Can she paint the lines!
She " spots" areas that need emphasis.
I disagree, and wish she would use white out or better yet, start over! Making everything smooth and even colored.
She finally tires of all the knitting, painting and endless chatter.
Age-Ing sags and slumps in the chair.
The fire is out.
She has fallen asleep.
