Lord, Help my unbelief

Help my unbelief, help me trust Your Word
for I believe that You can do it Lord.
You asked me to step out of the boat.
I know that You can keep me afloat.

By looking at You Lord I can step out
though the wind and the waves toss me about.
Whatever comes my way I'll trust You Lord
I know, that I can depend upon your word.

Help me to walk with You like Enoch walked.
Trusting You as we both walked and talked.
I want to walk through life by faith and not by sight,
and be strong in You Lord, and Your great might.

About this poem

Written after reading Mark 9 23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” 24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
