TROUBLE TOWN

Trouble Town is for the lonesome
A town where only the troubled go,
No-one in their right mind would go there
It's a place the chosen never know.

If life hasn't ever chosen you
It might just be the place to be,
A land of shallow, broken promises
A place of pain and misery.

Trouble Town is for the faint-hearted
The strong could never find the place,
They say it is the land of heartache
The residents have lost the human race.

If you're lonesome it's for you
But never if you are strong of mind,
It's hidden in a red sandy dell
Which only lovelorn losers can find.

Don't go searching for this wasteland
Please stay far away from Trouble Town,
It's not a place for those with hope left
It's for the broken and trodden down.

It is a town of empty vows
Where every promise is just a lie,
In a desert where nothing good grows
Hopes and dreams will surely die.

You don't move into Trouble Town
It's a place you move down to,
You don't descend there on a whim
But only when all hope is doomed.

THE END

About this poem

I intended this to be a supernatural horror poem, I've been writing a lot of them lately. But the poem had it's own ideas and moved into a totally different direction. It happens!
