What happens to dreams deferred
do they shribble up like Grapes to Raisins
do they turn to shades of Black and Whites
Seeing myself coming and going
ages of new youth
Am I not the seed of my mother-to-son
Crystal stairs painted with images of thorns
That should not hurt my phonetic images of life
Singing like the cage mocking bird
wanting to run from wilderness
into the wind
into the air
Am I living my dream defer... yes!
