THE INSANE VOYAGE OF LIFE

The insane voyage of life
Is taking us on an awful ride,
So many people long for death
Hoping to never be denied.

Unwillingly we all are born
Into the cold malignant Earth, after
Our parents' thoughtless coupling
Resulting in our unchosen birth.

Even in the crib, we knew the error
That our carnal parents had made,
Forcing us into a dreadful world
In which all happiness is now forbade.

As we start to crawl we learn the horror
Of what our life is bound to put us through,
As everyday terrors are surrounding us
As life's every action seems like abuse.

The insane voyage of life
Is carrying us all unwillingly along,
We cry, we try to resist the journey
But in the end, we're not that strong.

So, off to school we soon have to march
To be subjected to the hype of education,
To be lied to and taught empty 'facts'
And jingoism about our 'great nation'.

By the time we start our working life
We're well and truly ready to pass on,
But by the time we're allowed to retire
Our sixty-five best years have fully gone.

Till at last, we feel the end is coming
Yes, we hope that our time is nigh,
Because after all these terrible years
It's safe to say that we're willing to die.

THE END
