Blessed To Receive

Life to live it,
As a blessing to receive.
Is less emphasized in some societies.
Where that priority is more expressed,
In the obtaining of possessions.
And addressing impressions made.

Today?
Values and standards to have,
Are fast fading as a past had.
For the many these days,
Seeking happiness.
And a way to achieve it basically.
Only to choose which is more important.

Whether a blessed life to receive,
Exploring to adventure the best one can.
With a contributing to a needed economy.
Or whether to participate,
Without unneeded impressions to make.
To then decide,
The worth of relationships.
One has established.
Based upon pretensions created.
With a wishing to then decide,
Why anyone would allow themselves...
To be more concerned,
About having to keep a good credit score.
And owing more to their creditors.
Than to God!
That everyone seems,
To pray more for a thankfulness.
If it is God's will to bless them to get out,
Of debt!

'On my knees everyday I pray.'

'I am so glad to hear you confess that.
I do the same thing too.
And more these days,
I feel so blessed and grateful.
To adventure and explore God's creation.
What do you pray for?'

'Me?
I pray more each day,
To end my addiction to greed.
And that God will find a way,
To have my creditors leave me alone!'

'Try 'cold turkey'.
I'm told most addictions end that way.
I tried that for weeks.
And I'm still addicted to nicotine.'

'My creditors are addicted,
On my ability to pay my bills.'

'Try sincere explanations.'

'That's what I am doing.
But God seems not to be listening.'

'Hmmm.
Then try tears.'

'I have.
But my creditors prefer cash!
And 'that' I have yet,
Been blessed to receive.
