Set Her Free

I didn’t have a clue
She was bruised black and blue
Dying, I surmise
Looking deep into her eyes
Like stars, there was a flicker of light
She held my hands, held them tight
Stronger than a warrior’s grip
But she was weakened and on the drip
I wondered who could take her place?
No one in the human race!
But there were many others waiting to fill the gap
They were all greedy, they were all crap
But there is a glimmer of hope
And together we shall elope
To a land that is better for all
Separated by an epic wall
It will be a legendary tale
Of how I put them all into jail
Justice: abolishing all the misery
We shall be safe, we shall be free
