DARKNESS

Darkness
What do I do when my life is filled with darkness?
I witness the sun glazing through the windows, I see the sunlight
The children playing boasting with laughter, enjoying life as happy as can be
The trees swing and swaying as the wind whispers by
While the birds sing, in the bright blue sky
All this beauty, right in front of me, yet it is so dark behind me
A dark black cloud hovers over me, it has other plans for me
The cloud tells me, my life will change drastically
I will be living a life that goes against me morally
The room gets dark, my body cold, I have fear running through my soul
I feel powerless over my life and my wellbeing
I ask myself, “Why I cannot choose my own destiny?
Why this cloud has more control than me?”
The life I foresee, is bright in front of me
With this cloud that hovers over me, it seems so far out of reach
I see me making a difference for those who surround me
Helping those break cycles generationally
Giving back to the community, knowledge and financial literacy
This battle has not defeated me
I will give it my all and accomplish what is meant for me whole heartedly
The cloud laughs and says, “Keep dreaming. It’s hard to believe your life in the hands of a DEMON.”
He says I will obey, or I will get beaten
In its mind, I have already been defeated
In my mind it is a battle unfinished
