Mark's discounted machismo

Shotgun shell,
Siren’s song,
festering flesh wounds embrace,
Swallowed pills,
Mutilated lamb,
Such a wasted opportunity.

Pestilent itch,
Irreverent tone,
Foraging for entropy,
Rooting in familiarity,
A bit of sweet, musical nothing.

Weaponized codependency,
Recycled tunes,
Bone marrow engagements,
Pity, pity.
Cheetah print undies, tiny pseudo-penis,
Drowning in a stash as big as your head,
But you’ve got to pay the dealer back!

About this poem

Open to interpretation, though if you ask the Professor, he'll likely say it was an ode to the prideful drug addict, one whom forgets the true pity and despair of his reality for a few blissful moments...until he remembers.
