Dependence on the LORD
I lift up my soul to the Lord,
For I will not be put to shame;
I continue in one accord,
And I will not stop to proclaim.
My foes not triumph over me,
Because they wait and are ashamed;
Since they are way too blind to see,
The transgression that God has blamed.
I need to know all of His ways,
And be taught of the narrow path;
Avoiding transgression that strays,
Righteously avoiding the wrath.
I need to be led in the truth,
Taught in the way for salvation;
No longer like a reckless youth,
And build a righteous foundation.
I patiently wait all day long,
Thinking of His mercy and grace;
His steadfast love will remain strong,
While yearning for His embrace.
He remembers no sins from youth,
Through admittance in confession;
Those times that I had been uncouth,
That was causing my transgression.
Good and upright is our Lord,
He instructs sinners in His way;
How to remain in one accord,
And how we must trust and obey.
He leads the humble what is right,
Teaching the meek the proper way;
In His eyes to be a delight,
While never to go astray.
For all of the paths of the Lord,
Have mercy with His steadfast love;
For those who have loved and adored,
With the truth flowing from above.
