Buffalo Eternal

The city it slept, for decades too long
The promise it kept, left when steel it had gone
Centuries burden,  worn shoulders it pressed
NYs golden apple, its jewel of the west
Toxic remnants of industry left in its wake
As promise relocated for progresses sake
For those who were few chose to ride out the storm
The plight and struggle its grip it was strong
From out of the rubble a glimmering light
The flame of resilience its people held tight
The promise attainable, the future of hope
An effort magnificent, the grandest of scope
The lights they shine brighter, the people they cheer
Get ready America, Buffalo's here!
