A Heisted Dog's Knee

Nicole Crowned 1967 (Seattle, WA)

I was a baby juniper as green as green could be.

I once had healthy branches that everyone could see.

Unfortunately this past year I started seeing a new me.

My owner thinks it was because of many four-legged friends wee wee.

So please if you happen by and see a heisted dog's knee understand that junipers are not free and I wouldn't want my owner to have to replace this sad, dying yellow tree.

Remember being mindful and showing kindness to others is the key.

So don't stop, just keep on walking by this little tree merrily.

About this poem

I wrote this poem to place on a flag near my juniper bush. I wanted a humorous and polite way to ask passers-by, walking with their pets, not to let their beloved dogs wee wee on my juniper bushes.
