Smiling Curtains

Sherry Caayupan 1980 (Davao city)

Your ruffles run through my head,
Purple windows stay alive;
I take my hand in stead,
Now the sun rays do arrive;

Gladly mornings start with a grin,
I cast a fragrant mist;
Tiring toils now begin,
Everyday gladness exists;

In this room where I first stumbled,
Your face so nocent;
Your frolicking hands I made ten-fold,
I welcome you without indolence;

Let the moon shine on me,
I sleep a relenting dream;
Your palms close in chivalry,
I hear no doubt nor scream.
