THE DYKES WHO RULE US

Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)

The dykes who rule us promise
To create a better world,
But not if you're a man-child
No, only for women and girls.

It seems women were born to rule
And men to be their slaves,
While women reside in offices
Men are digging their own graves.

The Australian Lesbian's Party
Claims equality is just for women,
But how can it even be equality
If it isn't for women and men?

'Justice' the A.L.P. way
Means men must have no rights,
And sadly many men believe it
And, have given up the fight.

We have to fight for justice
Or it will never come men's way,
Especially here in Australia
Where only women get a say.

The dykes who rule us claim
That all men are second-rate,
So we aren't entitled to the rights
That women have to date.

But in a just society
As Australia once used to be,
Justice and equality must
Be for Him ... as well as She!

About this poem

Only a very misguided person would suggest we have equality and justice in Australia. You cannot have either, unless it includes both women and men. What the A.L.P. (the Australian Lesbian's Party) calls justice and equality means only rights for women.
