THE ENDS CAN NEVER JUSTIFY THE MEANS
In spite of what the politicians say
The ends can never justify the means,
Whether spreading lies about historic incidents
Or brainwashing children like unspeakable fiends.
The ends can never justify the lies,
That politicians tell us every day,
Brainwashing adults and children alike
In their determination to always get their way.
The ends can never justify the brainwashing
That goes on every day in Australian schools,
Instead of breeding rebels with free-will
All they turn out now are conforming fools.
The ends can never justify the crimes,
That Canberra, London, and Washington have done,
As they twist and corrupt minds to conform
Mentally abusing their countries’s precious young.
No, the ends can never justify the actions,
Of leaders who shout, “Conform or die!”
Who attempt to excuse the inexcusable
As they tell the world unmitigated lies.
No, the ends can never justify the treason,
That goes on each day in school and parliament,
As the truth is twisted round and round all day long
So, if not actually broken, it is severely bent.
THE END

About this poem
It appalls me how often atrocities are committed under the believe that the ends can justify the means. The I.R.A., the C.I.A, George W. Bush have all tried to excuse abominations on the basis of, "The ends justifies the means!" In fact the first rule of morality is that the ends can NEVER justify the means!!
