Worth a Thousand Words

Don’t be deceived by a calm blue sea
For diligently it toils, for you and for me
Above the blue surface
Just past the grey pine boards
Spreads an ocean of tall green grasses
A beautiful home for Mallard and Gander
Minnows, Flounder and Eel below
Egrets, Gulls and Cranes above

Mothers bring fathers bring sons and daughters
Sodas and melons, burgers and corn
Family outings mean a whole lot more
Enjoyed by thousands who flock to the shore
The Jersey shore, where memories are made
Better than photos worth thousands of words
Time well spent with  family and friends
