Inheritance- My Loves Legacy

A father’s conflict born of fatigues and war
Attaches itself to his newly born boy,
A disguise of hope, but it’s rage
Laying in wait to destroy.

The father is a concrete man, mathematical and thinking,
He thinks he knows best and leads his boy,
Through mother, girlfriend, step-mother and more.
He proves his prowess to the core.

The father loves the adoration and being the only one,
who is the guiding light of his only son,
He weds and wars for his son to watch,
For the show must go on.
And why would he stop when he has a boy,
to take along,
whether it be right or wrong?

When on his death bed fathers legacy unfolds,
Lays in passivity while step mom throws her bomb,
In the war, the boy, now man, is moved to participate and shun
with conflict as his artists medium,
He furiously paints to a state of stun,
Not blinking, his eyes are staring at truth now,
Conflict on his brow.
He looks down to his own boy,
And a look of coy,

The man is now his fathers son thereby takes the stage,
Bequeathing to his own son,
All his father’s rage.
