Oh Mr. Banana Tree

Oh Mr Banana tree
I sit before thee
Yet right next door
A mighty Oak stands tall
Tall and intimidatingly beautiful.
Yet I sit before thee Mr Banana tree

Oh my friend what do you offer me
The mighty Oak shadows over me
A table to share my meals, no
The warmth of your flesh
in the coldest of nights, no

The beautiful Bottle Brush
A few steps away
Crepe Myrtles and Kumquat trees
All so comforting in the heat of the day
Here again Mr B, I sit before thee

What do you offer that entices me
Your trunk is not so strong
Pretty flowers you have none

Oh Mr Banana tree
I sit before thee
Eating your fruit and it dawns on me
It is not your beauty nor shade for me
Not beautiful flowers or enticing fragrances
It is as simple as, you listen to me.
