Finish The Race

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

No one in a race competing to win it.
Should take for granted or assume,
The winning of it won has been done.
Before the finish line comes.

This to do to have won other races,
To lose that craving for the taste to win.
Will always have others left to thirst,
A crossing of the finish line first.
After and not before,
That win to validate it celebrated.
