The Honey Bee

The sweet blossoms of spring
Coaxed from their sleep by the warmth of the sun
Calling the birds to song.
Cardinals, Jays and Robins,
Share their melodies with the world.
Squirrels maneuver their highways
and byways looking for their bounty.
No one notices the lone honey bee.
So diligent in its endeavors
Working with no rest, never a complaint
If it weren’t for the honey be
with diligence and commitment
If it weren’t for their work no blossoms exist.
If no blossoms exist songs fade away
Amazing the huge contributions made
by the smallest of creatures.
